What: The Bolognia Declaration includes the declaration of originally 29 countries and organisations to create a European higher education area by 2010. Its core elements are:
- a system of understandable and comparable academic degrees
- a common two-step system of academic degrees (Bachelor / Master)
- a common marking point system based on the ECTS model
- mobility programmes
- European cooperation on quality assurance
- the European dimension of academic education
